Position Summary |
The Utility Associate will perform custodial and waste (cardboard, plastic, trash) disposal within the facility.
Position Responsibilities - Essential |
Clean and service restrooms
Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors and stairways
Dust such items as blinds, furniture, file cabinets, and windowsills using treated dust mittens, cloths, or hand-cleaning items
Scrub, strip, sanitize, wax, and buff floors
Polish furniture, metal work, and chrome using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds.
Maintain an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies
Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures using both step and extension ladders
Shampoo carpets
Determine appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools, and equipment needed to accomplish job
Bale scrap cardboard (Remove cardboard from transportation cart, bale cardboard, load bale into trailer using pallet jack
Compact trash (remove trash from transportation cart, place down trash chute, operate compactor)
Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.

Essential Skills and Experience |
Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, supplies, cleaning compounds, and solutions
Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
Beneficial Skills and Experience |
Preferred one year or more of janitorial & waste management experience
Certified PIT (powered industrial truck) operator
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules, and regulations
Knowledge of building and property security procedures
