Posted Range: $33.51/hour

Primary Role
The Utility Compressor Operator/Crew Leader leads and performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of water.
There are 2 openings for this role. 1 shift is Monday-Friday 3:30p-11:30p and the other shift for this position is Wednesday-Sunday 7:30a-3:30p.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible to uphold all Company policies and procedures relative to safety and act in a professional manner to reduce the exposure of hazards to employees, customers, contractors, and themselves.
- Leads assigned crew and responsible for pre job briefings, job site checklist, and competent person forms.
- Coordinate, monitor, and control the safe and efficient utilization of Company resources, when assigned.
- Safely and effectively direct the workforce under his\her direct supervision.
- Maintain a safe and compliant Job site at all times.
- Satisfy all Federal, State, OSHA, and traffic standards, including reporting and documenting any unsafe acts.
- Ensure the proper completion of all paper or electronic forms, timesheets, inspection sheets and other documents or reports as required by the Company or governing board(s) or committee(s) for each member of the crew.
- Maintains a properly equipped vehicle which may include DOT DVIR inspections.
- Operates and maintains assigned compressor and all related tools andequipment.
- Tasks include but are not limited to work on pipe, main or service lines, valves, hydrants, and fittings and may involve the use of technology, manual hand tools or power tools in the performance of assigned tasks; operating and inspecting valves and fire hydrants; maintaining tools and work equipment; investigating complaints and determining corrective actions needed per company procedure; completing all necessary forms, sketches and field notes and being knowledgeable of usage of maps and records; may perform facility mark-outs pursuant to Pennsylvania One-Call; driving vehicles in performance of general job, including housekeeping of vehicles to conduct work as assigned by the supervisor or crew leader and to assist other personnel as required; performing NRW leak detection tasks as directed by management; responding to customer service inquiries including service disruptions, service line problems.
- Performs work as a Utility Person.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge/Skills
- Previous experience in utility is a plus.
- Must have basic geographical knowledge of company's service area and working knowledge of company policies, procedures and safety practices as well as regulations regarding confined spaces.
- Ability to operate company equipment and vehicles necessary for completion of assigned responsibilities.
- General knowledge of safe practices for operation and maintenance of underground utilities, including worksite safety. Knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in the Utility job description (attached).
Experience/Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Certifications
- Once an individual is hired into or awarded a Utility Compressor Operator/Crew Leader position, he or she must take and pass the appropriate state certification examination for Class E Water Distribution License within 24 months, and apply for certification within 6 months of achieving the minimum experience requirement for certification, if he or she had not already met the minimum experience requirement upon passing the certification test.

- Position may be subject to mandatory off hours call-out and overtime.
- Candidate is required to possess and maintain a drivers license valid in the state of their residence.
- Candidate will be required to complete and maintain forms needed for a driver qualification file.
- Candidate will be required to obtain a DOT medical card.
- Candidate will be required to obtain their DEP Class E License within 2 years of hire date.
Work Environment
- Must be adaptable to variations in topography and weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment and materials of varying weights up to 100 lbs.
