Summary
Utilities Crew Leader, under the general supervision of the Foreman, leads the field work of utility crews; completes utility crew paperwork; operates heavy equipment; installs, maintains, and repairs water & wastewater infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides supervision and training for assigned crew members
Plans, coordinates, and orders the necessary parts, supplies, and equipment for assigned work orders
Inspects all equipment before use and reports problems to supervisor or to fleet maintenance
Ensures that all safety policies are adhered to, safety equipment inspected and used, and that PPE is properly utilized
Prepares work orders, documenting parts, hours, equipment used and all other pertinent data in the work order management system
Performs all duties of a Utility Technician as needed
Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of experience in Utilities or related field
Demonstrated leadership skills
Certifications and Licenses
Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement upon hire or advancement
TCEQ License C Water Distribution and WasteWater Collection II upon hire.
