Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following;
- Operate all heavy equipment safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions or behaviors
- Perform daily equipment inspections
- Excavate mainline trenches in and around utilities
- Trench and set mainline trench boxes in accordance to OSHA standards
- Understand and implement the proper rigging for all materials being lowered into the trench
- Job requires steady to intermittent physical activity including standing, stooping kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven ground, shoveling, and raking
- Some physical labor is required
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications;
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license but a CDL is a preferred
- Must pass a pre employment drug screening and background
- Ability to communicate and work with others in a high stress environment
- Actively implement company & industry safety policies to ensure a consistently safe working environment for employees, owners, and the public
