Supervises the activities of customer service personnel in the Water Utilities Department, Quality Assurance Section. Plans, assigns, and directs the work of specialized technical and clerical staff in customer service, new business, meter reading, fee collection, and billing verifications. Operates automated phone systems; handles complex customer complaints, conducts thorough investigations; monitors employee performance in various administrative functions. Work is reviewed by an administrative superior through conferences, observations, and written reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Public Administration or related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in customer service-related activities, which includes one (1) year of related experience assigning, coordinating, or directing the work of others,
OR
An unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of five (5) years of experience in customer service-related activities, which includes one (1) year of related experience assigning, coordinating, or directing the work of others,
OR
An Associate's Degree in Business/Public Administration or related field; minimum of six (6) years of experience in customer service-related activities, which includes one (1) year of related experience assigning, coordinating, or directing the work of others,
OR
An unrelated Associate's Degree; minimum of seven (7) years of experience in customer service-related activities, which includes one (1) year of related experience assigning, coordinating, or directing the work of others,
OR
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of eight (8) years of experience in customer service-related activities, which includes one (1) year of related experience assigning, coordinating, or directing the work of others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience using a Customer Information System (CIS),
Experience providing customer service within a utility or government agency,
Experience using Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) technology or other meter software,
Experience using Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint, and
Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
