    RoleEngineer IV (Utility Design – PE Licensed)LocationHouston, TX (CNP Tower) – Onsite 4 Days/Week (Remote Fridays)Duration6+ Months Contract with possible extensionClientCenterpoint EnergyJob DescriptionThis role requires a detail‑oriented engineer who can contribute to design, analysis, and implementation of utility systems while working closely with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop engineering solutions for utility infrastructure projects (gas, electric, transmission, or distribution systems)Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and system evaluations to ensure safety, reliability, and complianceReview and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentsCollaborate with project managers, field teams, and other engineering disciplines for successful project deliverySupport project planning, execution, and troubleshooting of engineering issuesEnsure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety codesPrepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and design packagesProvide input on process improvements and engineering best practicesRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong experience in utility engineering (gas, electric, pipeline, transmission, or distribution)Proven ability in engineering design, analysis, and problem‑solvingExperience working with engineering tools, drawings, and design documentationAbility to work in a collaborative, cross‑functional environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsKnowledge of industry standards, codes, and compliance requirementsRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or related Engineering disciplineMinimum 5+ years of experience in utility design or related project/construction engineeringActive Professional Engineer (PE) License (Required)Preferred QualificationsExperience working with utility companies or EPC firmsFamiliarity with Houston/Texas utility infrastructure projectsStrong background in field coordination and project executionWork ScheduleOnsite 4 days/week (Houston, TX)Remote 1 day/week (Friday flexibility)Important NotesOnly candidates with active PE License will be consideredLocal or nearby candidates to Houston are highly preferredRole requires hands‑on engineering and design experience in utility environments#J-18808-Ljbffr
