E2 is seeking a skilled Utility Distribution Planner to support major electric utility clients — including public utility commissions — across the country. This role focuses on the full lifecycle of electric service installations: reviewing applications, coordinating with stakeholders, preparing cost estimates and bills of materials, conducting field inspections, and delivering construction-ready job packages. The position requires the work be performed locally in Hawaii.  We would be willing to offer relocation.

  • Prepare complete job packages containing all final information needed to construct each project.
  • Validate design information such as structure type, conductor specifications, material standards, and constructability against utility standards.
  • Attend scheduling, coordination, and progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders (utility clients, contractors, developers, and other agencies).
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment to meet project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology from an accredited college/university or similar degree.
  • 1+ years as a planner/designer working on distribution system projects.
  • Familiarity with utility infrastructure planning workflows, including application review, RFI response, cost estimating, and job package preparation.
  • Working understanding of NESC or similar standards.
  • Ability to perform field inspections and document findings per client or agency standards.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to review submittals and thoroughly check work.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with contractors, developers, and public agency stakeholders
  • Must live on one of the Hawaiian Islands or willing to relocate.

Preferred

  • Have prior experience working for HECO distribution planning and design projects.
  • Experience supporting public utility clients (e.g., municipal utilities, public utility commissions).
