Lincoln Wastewater System is one of 11 divisions in the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Department. The LTU team provides transit, transportation, and utilities services year-round to the citizens of Lincoln. Nearly 600 team members make up LTU.
Lincoln Wastewater System is responsible for all aspects of operating and maintaining the sanitary sewer collection system and water resource recovery facilities. It is our mission to provide vital wastewater services to the citizens and customers of Lincoln, ensuring the highest possible levels of public health, economic growth, environmental quality, and fiscal responsibility for the community.
We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Utility Equipment Operator I to join our team. This position requires skilled work providing preventative cleaning, maintenance, construct and repair, and perform inspection duties on sanitary sewers to provide reliable sewer service to commercial, domestic, and industrial customers.
Hours: Full time; Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in the operation and maintenance of trucks and construction equipment heavier than pickup trucks; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Necessary Special Requirements: Valid drivers license. Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) is required or the ability to obtain within 90 days of appointment.
