Our patients health is our priority, and we go above and beyond to care in every way possible. Position Statement: This position plays an integral part of the facilities team. The focus of this position is to repair, maintain and update areas of the hospital as needed. As a level II maintenance worker this position also has a vital role in helping with all preventative maintenance throughout the campus. This role will also assist in other areas of maintenance such as plumbing and electrical projects. As with all positions at NCH, customer service and professional communication is key in being successful. Key Responsibilities: Assists the electrician and plumber with projects as needed. Assist with property maintenance as needed throughout the campus. Responds to hospital emergency codes. Responsible for related building and mechanical equipment upkeep, and general building security. Performs grounds maintenance as required. Participates in a rotating daily walk through to see that safety regulations are met, and efficient operations are maintained. This process includes observing meters and gauges and manipulating valves and other controls to regulate flow of water and fuel to meet need for steam. Conducts Preventative Maintenance as needed across the department. Conducts a variety of carpentry projects to include wall repair, painting, building of new structures. Assists with moving equipment and furniture as needed for departments across the campus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to appropriately communicate in all areas of the hospital. Carpentry experience and knowledge. Ability to provide a high level of customer service while being respectful of all patients, guests and family members. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks as needed throughout the day.
