We are seeking a Field Utility Manager/Engineer for a 12+ month contract. Working remotely from your home office – with some travel to sites. This role is a combination of remote office and field work.

What you'll do:
Preparing and submitting utility applications, including documentation, and coordinating with the utility providers.
Oversee energy utility management at each site and explore conservation opportunities and recommend improvements.
Responsible for monitoring, reporting, and improving Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) performance through defined targets, benchmarking, and corrective actions to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and cost performance.
Ensure compliance with telecom codes, standards and client specifications.
Design and review utility substation electrical power systems supporting telecom sites (fiber huts, edge data centers, remote shelters).
Power usage and efficiency study reports, including PUE calculations and supporting analyses.
Prepare and review power usage studies (power density, material albedo, battery technologies, PUE calculations, building codes).
Monthly PUE performance reports, including variance analysis and corrective action recommendations.
Provide technical oversight of utility substation and electrical power system designs, support site selection, and lead energy partnership and leasing support efforts in coordination with utilities, independent power providers, data center developers.
What we're looking for:
Minimum 3 years of experience in utility coordination and PUE
Strong experience of DC and AC power plant systems
Experience conducting due diligence and managing multiple large-scale projects; knowledge of transmission, distribution, utility peak shaving strategies, prime generation Proven technical leadership, quality delivery, and mentoring; strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency with standard document and analytics tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.)
Demonstrated expertise in regulated and de-regulated electrical energy markets
Ability to travel is expected at 25%.
