Shift: 2nd shift,1 PM - 9:30 PM.
Hourly Rate: $24.50 with a 0.50 cent shift differential.
You will also receive a $1,000 sign on bonus with this role.
The Utility Operator at the East Point Plant is a key role supporting manufacturing operations across material handling, batching, grinding, filling, labeling, packaging, and quality processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily manufacturing operations by preparing, weighing, transporting, and staging raw materials according to batch requirements
- Use scan guns and other systems to accurately locate, track, and document raw materials
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, tank movers, pallet jacks, scales, drum hoists, and drum handlers
- Operate manufacturing equipment including Cowles mixers, grinding equipment, Scholds dispersers, ring scales, meter decks, and letdown tanks
- Load and meter raw materials according to batch tickets and production requirements
- Perform required process checks, collect samples, and make approved quality adjustments to batches
- Support Quality Assurance activities, including routine testing, sampling, equipment checks, and specialty lab requests
- Clean and maintain tanks and production equipment as required
- Support rework and overrun processes and properly handle, consolidate, label, and transport waste materials
- Operate and monitor filling and labeling equipment, making adjustments as needed to maintain proper operation and fill volumes
- Verify container weights, labels, product codes, and packaging requirements
- Prepare, package, and palletize finished products while ensuring proper appearance and DOT requirements are met
- Maintain accurate production records, batch tickets, weighing documentation, and other required process documentation
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred
- Ability to learn and operate a variety of manufacturing and material-handling equipment
- Ability to accurately follow batch tickets, production instructions, and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues and communicate concerns effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing production priorities
- Ability to safely handle raw materials, finished products, and waste materials
- Forklift and material-handling experience preferred
