We are seeking a dependable
Utility Operator to support multiple areas of our manufacturing operation, including receiving, production, coating, laminating, finishing, shipping, and maintenance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working with a team, and being hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be flexible, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and willing to learn multiple processes throughout the plant.
Responsibilities:
- Support production, shipping, receiving, finishing, coating, and maintenance teams as needed
- Load and unload trucks, production equipment, and storage areas using pallet jacks, forklifts, tow motors, and other equipment
- Package, skid, band, label, and prepare finished products for shipment
- Complete production and shipping paperwork accurately
- Assist with housekeeping, organization, and light maintenance tasks
- Cross-train across departments and support changing production needs
- Follow safety procedures while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
- Identify and communicate production issues and help support process improvements
Qualifications:
- Manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience preferred
- Forklift/tow motor experience preferred (must be able to obtain forklift certification)
- Ability to read a tape measure and interpret product specifications
- Ability to use basic measuring tools including rulers, calipers, micrometers, and scales
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
- Ability to use hand tools and assist with equipment setup and operation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly (heavier items with assistance)
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work safely around machinery and manufacturing equipment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Plastics extrusion or sheet manufacturing experience is a plus
Work Environment:
This position requires regular standing, walking, lifting, and working around production equipment, moving machinery, and manufacturing materials. Proper safety equipment and procedures are required.
