Looking for a manufacturing opportunity where you can learn multiple machines, expand your skills and take on new responsibilities? We re hiring Utility Operators in Columbus, NE for both 1st and 2nd shifts.
This position offers plenty of variety. You ll operate equipment including a Saw/Drill Line and Large Combi Lift, move materials using cranes and lift trucks, and help keep production running safely and accurately. If you re mechanically inclined, comfortable with measurements and eager to learn, this could be a great fit.
What You ll Do
Operate the Saw/Drill Line, Large Combi Lift and other equipment as assigned
Select the correct raw materials and accurately document material usage
Use an overhead crane, jib hoist and lift truck to move raw and finished materials
Read and interpret blueprints and production specifications
Use tape measures, squares, protractors, micrometers and other measuring tools
Accurately check and document part and material quality
Maintain material identification and traceability
Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
Monitor the quality and quantity of finished products
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
Follow documented procedures, safety policies and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) requirements
Support continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and ISO 9001: 2015 standards
Work independently with limited supervision while contributing to a strong team environment
Complete additional duties assigned by the team leader
What We re Looking For
Strong communication skills
Ability and willingness to learn new equipment and processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Comfortable using basic math, including whole numbers, fractions and decimals
Ability to accurately use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares and micrometers
Ability to safely operate or learn to operate lift trucks, jib hoists and overhead cranes
Strong focus on safety, quality and accuracy
Ability to identify and select raw materials while maintaining proper traceability
Flexibility with work assignments and schedules
Willingness to work additional hours, other shifts or weekends when production demands require it
