Job Summary: The Utility Operator is responsible for supporting the production process to ensure continuous manufacturing of high-quality shingles, even during process disruptions. This role focuses on maintaining safety, quality, and operational efficiency while assisting across multiple areas of the production line. Key Responsibilities: Follow and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and initiatives Maintain housekeeping standards across all work areas Participate in safety teams and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities Perform laminator quality checks and ensure compliance with audit requirements Inspect shingle measurements and ensure proper stacking of bundles Identify and remove off-specification materials from production Monitor material application such as laminate and seal levels Clear machine jams and assist in machine cleaning and maintenance Support preventive maintenance (PM) and autonomous maintenance (AM) tasks Handle, stack, weigh, mark, and store finished products appropriately Assist with lace-up procedures and product wrapping/rewrapping Monitor equipment such as autocatchers and accumulator conveyors Display shingles on viewing boards during production intervals Support team members and maintain smooth production flow Complete operator paperwork and ensure proper documentation Participate in process improvement and TPM initiatives Required Skills: Ability to read and operate Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems Basic computer skills for data entry and system use Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations Strong attention to detail and quality control awareness Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed manufacturing environment Good communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking English) Ability to work independently and within a team Flexibility to work all shifts including nights Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required Education: High School
