Utility Person|Kitchen General Cleaner

We're seeking a Kitchen General Cleaner|Utility Person for our dual-property hotel, where you'll provide exceptional service across two distinctive environments. Our hotel is conveniently located at the Reston Town Center Metrorail Station, the AC Hotel & Residence Inn Reston, with 267 rooms, a Rooftop Bar, and a full-service restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hotel is equipped with over 10,000 square feet of meeting space, an indoor heated pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness center for a lasting impression on our clients. Kitchen General Cleaner| Utility Person

Salary Range:  $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Position Summary

Utility Persons (Kitchen General Cleaners) are responsible for the storage and sanitation of all dinnerware, silverware, and glassware in the hotel.

Essential Functions

• Operate dishwashing machines.
• Ensure dishwasher temperature is within the specified range and the chemicals are properly connected to the machine.
• Properly clean and disinfect the dishwashing machine.
• Sweep and mop floors. Check for broken items on the floor and wet areas that may be hazardous, and remove the hazard.
• Clean walls, table, racks, sink, floor mats, and disposal areas.
• Clean ovens, hoods, filters, drains, hot boxes, and ceiling vents.
• Empty all trash cans.
• Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Understand and use safety procedures when using all equipment. Understands chemical hazards and follows safety procedures when using chemicals, chemical compounds, and cleaning products.
• Know the correct temperature for washing, rinsing, and pre-soaking of all pots, pans, utensils, plates, and glasses.
• Receive deliveries and place stock items in the proper area.
• Follow proper sanitation procedures for sanitizing items that are unable to be washed in the dishwasher.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the loading dock and dumpster area.

Additional Responsibilities

• Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
• The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands, and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
