Utility Pipe Welder - Cleveland, OH - JOB 26-00448
Pay Range: $27.00 - $33.00/HR Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
A leading Cleveland, Ohio area Energy Firm trying to find a skilled Utility Pipe Welder. In this role, you will be a vital part of the team maintaining, installing, inspecting, and repairing critical industrial underground chilled water and steam piping infrastructure systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and install underground steam and chilled water distribution piping networks.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and document underground manholes, infrastructure components, and logs.
- Diagnose issues within distribution and HVAC systems, including valves, steam traps, and pressure-reducing valves.
- Set up job sites and collaborate with crew members on underground excavation and utility repairs.
- Safely operate heavy construction equipment, blowers, pumps, air compressors, and jackhammers.
- Step into the Energy Infrastructure Lead role when directed; provide daily reports, vehicle inspections, and confined space entry logs to the Energy Infrastructure Manager.
- Respond calmly and professionally to emergency call-outs. Promptly report leaks, damaged infrastructure, or safety concerns while maintaining a clean work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground utility construction, civil construction, or industrial pipefitting.
- Hands-on experience with pipe welding and fitting. 6G certification is a major plus, but not strictly required.
- Familiarity with HVAC/mechanical systems, threaded pipe, valves, and steam traps.
- Valid Ohio driver's license with the ability to safely operate manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong written and verbal communication, safety-conscious mindset, reliability, and comfort taking direction.
- Open to working flexible hours when emergency service/repair needs arise.
