Position Summary The Hourly Production Utility position is an entry‑level production role. Production Utility workers perform multiple and varied tasks in the production environment as needed, including general cleaning, machine operation, forklift operation, and other related production tasks required by the business.Responsibilities Production Utility workers are responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the production environment, such as general cleaning, machine operation, forklift operation, and any other related production tasks as business demands.Basic Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Ability to read, write and speak in English.Must be willing and able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.Must have at least 2 years of paper mill/industrial manufacturing work experience, or 2 years of study at an accredited college in a technical field (e.g., process operations, engineering), or 2 years of related military experience.Must be able to work in a hot, cold, humid, noisy, industrial environment with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks repetitively for extended periods of time (e.g., lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling), with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be willing to wear necessary personal protection equipment (PPE) (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel‑toe boots or safety shoes and other required PPE), with or without reasonable accommodation.Preferred Experience Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred.Experience with safe work permitting (hot work, line breaking) and executing lockout activities (isolation, draining, de‑energizing).Experience operating pumps, control valves, agitators, or reactor equipment.Familiarity with lab equipment and procedures; pH measurement, conductivity measurement and titration.Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel for data entry and document creation.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work well under pressure, within time constraints, multi‑task, and build sound relationships with internal and external customers.Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills.Capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem‑solving, ambiguity and change.Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.Ability to read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions and reports.Tests and Board Interview Selected candidates will complete five written tests covering basic mechanical principles, basic arithmetic skills, visualizing three‑dimensional figures, comparing numbers or patterns quickly and accurately, and basic verbal ability. Candidates will also participate in a structured board interview conducted by a four‑person board covering work history, achievements and accomplishments, knowledge and skill acquisition, interpersonal skills and helpfulness, task‑related likes and dislikes, and physical demands experienced in previous jobs.Compensation and Benefits Starting salary: $22.00 per hour.Paid holidays.Within the first 30 days of employment, employees (and dependents) are eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages—medical, dental, and vision— and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.Upon hire, employees are automatically enrolled in the 401(k) plan, which offers both pre‑tax and Roth contribution options along with employer‑provided matching contributions.Disclaimer: The compensation and benefits information in this posting represents the company's good faith estimate.
