Job Title: Utility Operator
Location: Lake City MN 55041
Pay Rate: $19.44/hr. on W2
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week (Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required)
 
Position Summary
We are seeking motivated and dependable Utility Operators to join our flour mill production team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are eager to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment. No prior experience is required—we will provide training for the right candidates.
The Utility Operator is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, supporting production operations, and assisting with equipment maintenance. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
 
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning of floors, equipment, and outdoor grounds throughout the facility.
Complete specialized cleaning tasks, including cleaning bins, sifters, conveyors, and changing filter socks.
Work safely in confined spaces and at elevated heights using required fall protection equipment.
Operate manufacturing and processing equipment after receiving training.
Assist with basic process maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
Cross-train in various production roles to provide operational support and relief coverage.
Follow all safety, sanitation, environmental, and company policies and procedures.
Complete special assignments and duties as directed by management.
 
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Basic computer skills.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Comfortable working on ladders, elevated platforms, and stairs.
Willingness to work in a production/manufacturing environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Previous manufacturing or production experience.
Machine operation experience.
Experience troubleshooting equipment issues.
 
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, and respiratory protection when necessary.
Exposure to wheat dust and allergens.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders throughout the facility.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
