Summary/Objective

The Utility Worker Retail Porter is responsible to transport food from the main kitchen to the Terrace cafeteria before and during meal periods. This position also is responsible for doing dishes and maintaining cleanliness standards in the facility.

• Ensures that all units and equipment are maintained and cleaned according to local and hospital required food safety standards. Including daily weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.
• Transports food and supplies from main kitchen to Terrace in a timely manner.
• Stock needed supplies in units, filling soda machines with ice, putting away and organizing grocery orders, cleaning supplies, while keeping storage areas clean and organized.
• Receive and put away delivery orders using the FIFO system, labeling and dating items; as well as maintaining the receiving log and checking random temps on product coming in, logging coolers/freezers and dish washer temps as assigned.
• Position washes dishes in dish machine and operates the garbage disposal in a safe manner consistent with operating procedures. Allows all dishes to air dry and keeps them put away in the proper location with no wet nesting/stacking. Sweeps and mops floors and cleans up spills as needed.
• Cleans fryers and disposes of oils according to food and safety guidelines. Completes assigned daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments in a timely manner, consistent with established standards.
