The Office of Orientation & Transition is dedicated to supporting new students and their families as they navigate their transition to the University. Through year-round programs, Orientation & Transition fosters a welcoming environment to ensure student success.

The Marketing & Content Creator Intern will play a key role in enhancing the offices marketing and outreach efforts. This position will assist in managing social media platforms, developing creative content, and supporting in-person engagement strategies such as tabling events. The intern will also collaborate with office staff to promote events by designing flyers, crafting social media posts, and assisting with event execution.

The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for reaching all student populations. This role provides an opportunity to develop marketing skills, gain hands-on experience in content creation, and contribute to a meaningful campus experience for new students.

Responsibilities

Work 510 hours per week, throughout the calendar year, with a set schedule approved by the supervisor. Additionally hours provided throughout the summer based on programming needs. Meet with the supervisor for a one-on-one every other week. Stay organized and effectively communicate with staff members about programs and content via email and Teams. Coordinate marketing efforts for all office programs in collaboration with staff members. Manage content and analytics for the offices social media accounts. Create visually engaging marketing materials using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite Capture and edit photos/videos for is in promotional content.

Minimum Qualifications Preferences

Preferred department qualifications

  • Prefers students that have been awarded work study
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Strong storytelling abilities and an understanding of digital engagement strategies are highly valued.
