The University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business Executive MBA program is seeking a part-time Event & Program Support Assistant to assist with various program-related tasks. We are committed to delivering exceptional events, hospitality, and top-tier customer service to our Executive MBA students, and we are looking for a dedicated individual who shares this passion.

This role offers students a valuable opportunity to gain professional experience in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment while supporting administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, preparing, and executing numerous events throughout the year for prospective students, current students, and alumni.
  • Responsibilities include event planning, preparing materials, coordinating activities, assisting with event operations, event takedown, and post-event debriefing to improve future events.
  • Availability to work Fridays and Saturdays (every other week) to support Executive MBA class days. Shifts generally range from 6:30 am - 2:30 pm or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on class days. These are two-day events that occur year-round.
  • Perform general office duties, including front desk coverage, answering and screening incoming calls, maintaining and ordering office supplies, and sorting and distributing mail.
  • Communicate with prospective students via phone, in-person interactions, and email.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a current University of Utah student.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A passion for hospitality and events, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Detail-oriented, efficient, self-reliant, and a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team setting and communicate effectively.
  • Professional phone etiquette and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional attire is required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 20 lbs. and stand for extended periods in preparation for Executive MBA events.

Preferences

The ideal candidate is outgoing, has experience in event assistance, event coordination, or hospitality.
