JOB DESCRIPTION:
The UVM Health Medical Group Director is responsible for the operational performance of multiple sites across UVMH. For the assigned practices and services, the Directors is responsible for translating UVMH strategy into, and coaching leaders responsible for, day-to-day operational execution. A focus on operational metrics and outcomes from a patient and clinician perspective are critical to success. This individual leads a group of people leaders ensuring consistent execution of workflows, staffing models, and clinic operations.
This role partners with Division Chiefs, Site Leaders, and Department Leadership to drive reliable, efficient operations aligned with Medical Group standards and system priorities.

This is a highly execution-focused role, requiring strong day-to-day operational presence across multiple locations and geographies, with accountability to deliver consistent performance, improved access, and efficient medical group practice operations.
Additionally, the Director is given opportunities to lead medical group-wide initiatives regarding access improvement, operations, policy development, etc..
Work Location & Scope of Responsibility: The Director will provide leadership across multiple UVM Health locations, with an anticipated time allocation of approximately 40% at Alice Hyde Medical Center (Malone, NY), 40% at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (Plattsburgh, NY), and 20% at The University of Vermont Medical Center (Burlington, VT). This role requires regular travel between sites and will oversee the AHMC and CVPH Primary Care Clinics, as well as the University of Vermont Health Dental Clinics, ensuring operational excellence, quality patient care, and strategic alignment across all practice locations.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Healthcare Management, or related field required. The ideal candidate will possess a Master"s Degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration or a related area.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in management (if assigned to UVMMC campus, preferably experience in an academic setting). At least 3 years of experience in health care operational management. Preference for experience leading and managing teams across sites or service lines.
