Unified Vailsburg Services Organization is dedicated to building a stable and compassionate community for Newark's children and families. We are seeking a passionate and certified Pre-K Lead Teacher to provide a high-quality, inclusive educational experience for our 3- and 4-year-old students.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive, engaging curriculum that meets the individual needs and abilities of all children.
Conduct ongoing child assessments, track progress, and maintain clear communication with parents through conferences, newsletters, and detailed reports.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel respected and valued.
Supervise and collaborate with a Teacher Assistant, ensuring they are included in classroom planning and activities.
Integrate lessons on health, nutrition, and safety into daily routines and ensure a clean, sanitized classroom.
Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and staff to support each child's development.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Required: NJ Department of Education Standard P-3 Certificate, CE, or CEAS.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a preschool environment.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with educational technology and software for assessment and communication.
The physical ability to perform duties including lifting, standing for long periods, and sitting on the floor.
