Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Experience with mobile app design, Critical User Journeys (CUJs), or voice-first interfaces.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working in a cross-functional organization.
  • Experience simplifying systems for a broad audience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on groundbreaking features like AI agentic task completion, helping screen-reader users seamlessly accomplish digital chores while carefully managing AI verbosity and audio feedback.
  • Design and iterate on critical multi-modal features like TalkBack, the TalkBack braille keyboard, magnification, dark theme, and high contrast mode, while taking into account adjacent accessibility needs.
  • Advocate for accessibility best practices across Google, helping partner teams adhere to internationally recognized accessibility standards and internal Google accessibility rating requirements.
  • Design contextual accessibility suggestions that meet users where they are, integrating tools into daily workflows.
  • Craft experiences where sound is the central interface, ensuring solutions adapt to the shifting requirements of both power users and those new to assistive technology.
