  4. Cross-Functional Product Collaboration: Experience partnering with product management, UX design, engineering, and data science teams to translate research findings into actionable product improvements.

Opportunity Overview:

Join a highly collaborative team helping define the next generation of AI-powered SharePoint experiences. This role offers the opportunity to influence both near-term product development and long-term product strategy through customer-centered research. You'll own end-to-end research initiatives, work alongside experienced product teams, and see your insights directly shape enterprise software used by organizations around the world.

How you will make an impact:

  • Design, plan, execute, and analyze qualitative and quantitative UX research studies.
  • Conduct usability testing, user interviews, surveys, and foundational research to understand customer behaviors, motivations, and pain points.
  • Deliver research findings that inform product strategy, feature prioritization, and user experience improvements.
  • Partner closely with product managers, UX designers, engineers, and data scientists throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Perform ongoing UX health studies to evaluate product readiness for engineering release.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction through data-driven insights.
  • Clearly communicate research methodology, findings, recommendations, and business impact to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Help shape AI-driven SharePoint experiences through continuous customer validation and discovery.

The expertise you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6 years of professional UX research experience within the technology industry.
  • Experience conducting both evaluative and foundational research that influences product direction.
  • Strong expertise in qualitative research methods including usability testing and user interviews.
  • Experience with quantitative research methods including surveys, card sorting, UX metrics, and behavioral analysis.
  • Proficiency using research platforms such as UserTesting, DScout, Qualtrics, Marvin, or similar tools.
  • Experience collecting, synthesizing, and communicating customer insights that drive product decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain research methodology and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic research projects, research rationale, methodology selection, and measurable business impact.
  • Experience collaborating effectively across product management, UX design, engineering, and data science teams.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

Successful candidates bring industry experience conducting user research for enterprise software products, ideally within Microsoft or a similar technology environment. They have experience independently owning research projects from planning through delivery, demonstrate rigor in study design and execution, and communicate findings in ways that influence product strategy. Strong collaboration skills, experience working with cross-functional product teams, and a passion for improving AI-powered user experiences distinguish top performers. Candidates located in the Redmond area who are comfortable working onsite 1–2 days per week will be especially well positioned for success.
