Role Overview

Our organization is seeking a Veterans Affairs (VA) Financial Systems Subject Matter Expert to work remotely. This is a hands-on role where the successful candidate will help lead the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in implementing CGIs Momentum Financial Solution. The SME will provide executive-level support during IV&V Wave Implementation testing, from initiation through planning to Hypercare, and will collaborate with project management and system integrator teams to provide an understanding of VA financial functions and business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of testers and analysts in the validation of technical and business processes.
  • Provide direction and support issue resolution for the testing team, ensuring decisions are consistent with requirements and regulations.
  • Work closely with the customer, system vendor, and technical stakeholders during planning, deployment, and post-deployment phases.
  • Elicit requirements from end-users for testing and other activities.
  • Research, analyze, and recommend solutions to complex issues.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Masters Degree, or a Bachelors degree with equivalent certifications, is required.

Experience: Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in federal sector financial management, with at least 5 years in a lead technical role transitioning, developing, and supporting Momentum or similar solutions for federal clients. A strong knowledge of Veterans Affairs financial policies and procedures is necessary.

Skills: This role requires team leadership and analytical thinking capabilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with senior-level management and clients. The ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, and JAVA development.
  • Experience with receivables, billing, and invoicing processes.
  • Experience supporting sales and business development for federal procurements.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary for this position is between $140,000 and $160,000 annually. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
