What matters most about a role like this is your sharp eye, capturing every detail as you scan a series of screens. Tell us about your strong observation skills with attention to detail.

As a Security Officer – Surveillance, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in environments such as a security operations centers, call centers, parking gatehouses, etc.

  • Candidate must have the ability to walk and stand for 8+ hours. Candidate must have the ability to work mornings, evenings, and or overnights. Weekends are required. Candidate must be flexible to fill in shifts when needed. On-Call Hours. Holidays may be needed to work. Days on/ off will vary based on site needs. Not guaranteed full time hours. 
  • Competitive hourly wage starting at $22.00/ Hr (DailyPay is available for GardaWorld employees!)

Responsibilities of Surveillance Security Guard

  • Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity
  • Verify identities and control access to secure areas
  • React quickly to threats or incidents
  • Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras
  • Document incidents and actions taken
  • Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
  • Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
  • Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property

Qualifications of Surveillance Security Guard

  • You have a high school education or equivalent (GED)
  • You’re able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
  • You have Security, Military, and/or Law Enforcement experience of at least 2 years or more
  • You have an active Virginia DCJS security license
  • You are at least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements
  • Must have experience utilizing Microsoft applications or Google applications, and Security Systems. Must have experience with Incident/ DAR reports
