JOB TITLE: Valet Driver / Bell Person SUMMARY The Valet Driver/Bell Person plays a vital dual role in delivering a warm welcome and seamless arrival and departure experience for guests. This position is responsible for greeting guests, assisting with luggage, and safely parking and retrieving guest vehicles. The Valet Driver/Bell Person also supports the overall guest experience by providing information, assistance, and excellent service throughout the guest’s stay. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Guest Service Maintains guest service as the top priority and driving philosophy of the operation. Greets all guests promptly, professionally, and courteously upon arrival and departure. Demonstrates a personal commitment to meeting guests’ needs and ensuring their satisfaction. Anticipates guest needs and responds efficiently and appropriately. Acts as an ambassador for the hotel, offering information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions. Bell Person Responsibilities Carries luggage and personal items for guests to and from rooms. Escorts guests to their rooms and explains room features and hotel amenities. Delivers guest items and messages promptly and professionally. Assists guests with special needs or disabilities. Maintains cleanliness and organization of bell stand, lobby, and luggage storage areas. Provides directions, brochures, and recommendations for local attractions, dining, and transportation. Monitors lobby activity and offers assistance as needed. Assists with coordination of taxi service, shuttle schedules, and other transportation needs. Valet Parking Responsibilities Safely parks and retrieves guest vehicles in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner. Maintains awareness of all vehicle locations, using tracking methods as required. Handles all vehicles with care and operates them responsibly, adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. Inspects vehicles for existing damage upon arrival and documents appropriately. Assists guests with loading/unloading luggage during arrival and departure. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the valet area. Ensures all keys are properly secured and organized. May assist with snow/ice removal from guest walkways and vehicles when needed. Prior customer service experience in hospitality or valet operations preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles. Language and Mathematical Skills Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to problem-solve and respond to guest concerns calmly and effectively. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to stand, walk, and run for extended periods. Frequent use of hands and arms for lifting, carrying, and handling items. Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to drive and operate a variety of vehicles, including those with manual transmission. |
