We are currently in search of a Validation Technician to join our Testing Validation department of the Marquardt Group in our location Cazenovia. This is an 8-12 week assignment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Build test fixtures, test boxes and wire harnesses correctly and accurately, as defined for the testing project.
  • Have basic working knowledge with hand assembly and hand crimping tools.
  • Have basic ability to use soldering irons effectively.
  • Basic ability to read and understand engineering specifications, drawings and documentation.
  • Support in the installation, validation, maintenance and repair of test equipment and components as required. Any further tasks as required.
  • Execute small projects aimed at testing / test equipment / support in process documentation and optimization with assistance of engineering team.
  • Review testing requirements and specifications before test execution.
  • Conduct electrical, mechanical and environmental tests of electro-mechanical switch products based on testing requirements.
  • Conduct tests in the lab and document test results according to schedule.
  • Documentation and evaluation of test results based on predefined acceptance criteria.
  • Learn the Marquardt PEP process/testing & validation process and how it applies to testing activities.
  • Learn to use Marquardt database Agile PLM, CIMDB and SAP.
  • Maintain lab, appearance and equipment, in a safe hazard free environment.
  • Any further tasks, as defined by testing laboratory management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate/bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
  • Min. 1 year of experience in the test / equipment environment, preferred automotive field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel).
  • Some experience reading technical drawings, and engineering specs.
  • Experience reading basic electrical schematics and performing measurements using DMM, oscilloscope, power supply.
  • Ability to prepare complex written reports and visualize data to clearly communicate test results.
  • Basic soldering skills, and ability to lean new soldering techniques.

The base pay range for this role is between $52,000 and $62,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
