    • Partner with functional leads and SMEs to ground value hypotheses in operational reality.

    Planning, Forecasting, and Business Partnership

    • Connect initiative value cases to budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes.

    • Analyze trends, risks, opportunities, and business KPIs to improve decision making and forecast accuracy.

    • Develop analytics and reporting that communicate value drivers, affordability, and expected ROI.

    Value Realization Tracking

    • Track projected versus realized value and maintain a clear portfolio view of value realization.

    • Reconcile realized value with original investment theses and identify areas on track, at risk, or requiring revision.

    • Provide evidence to Portfolio Strategy to inform sequencing, acceleration, and stop decisions.

    Financial Partnership, Controls, and Governance

    • Partner with DTE on cost-to-run modeling and total cost of ownership.

    • Partner with Finance on affordability analysis and investment governance inputs.

    • Support close, accrual, and governance processes requiring documentation, control awareness, or SOX-compliant discipline.

    Portfolio Value Coordination

    • Maintain an auditable record of value cases, KPIs, assumptions, and realization outcomes.

    • Provide the evidence base for portfolio-level value reporting and future investment decisions.

    • Direct and quality-control partner Value Architects embedded in delivery teams.

    • Partner with HR and business leaders on headcount reporting, forecasting, and planning where workforce assumptions affect value or affordability.

    Required Education Level

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, strategy, or a related field required.

    • Advanced degree, such as an MBA or master's degree in economics or analytics, preferred.

    Required Experience

    • Typically requires 10 or more years of experience in value management, strategic finance, consulting, or business analytics, or equivalent education and experience.

    • Experience building and tracking value cases for large-scale transformation or investment programs.

    • Experience with affordability modeling, cost-to-run, total cost of ownership, and cross-functional initiative coordination.

    • Pharmaceutical, biotech, or science-driven industry experience preferred.

    • People management or team leadership experience required.

    Required Knowledge/Skills

    • Expertise in value case development, benefits realization, investment appraisal, and financial modeling.

    • Ability to define rigorous KPIs and measurement frameworks that are analytically sound and operationally practical.

    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to challenge assumptions and identify flawed logic.

    • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills for senior and executive audiences.

    • Strong collaboration and influence skills with Finance, DTE, functional leaders, and portfolio stakeholders.

    • Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint required; knowledge of planning, BI, and visualization tools preferred.
