As the Value Stream Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll guide both the near-term execution and long-term evolution of engineering activities for your assigned production team. You report directly to the Engineering Leader for the Value Stream and operate at the intersection of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
A day in the life
7:30 AM – On the floor: Walk the cells, coach safe behaviors, confirm critical-to-quality parameters, and spot process drift before it becomes downtime.
9:00 AM – Priorities & resourcing: Sequence projects and problem-solving efforts, align cross-functional partners, and allocate resources to hit safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery targets.
10:30 AM – Engineering support: Analyze equipment and processes, perform root cause analysis, and implement actions that harden equipment reliability and stabilize processes.
12:00 PM – Collaboration huddle: Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and EHS to build robust processes—and ensure we follow them.
1:30 PM – Capital & capability: Develop business cases, submit capital requests, and lead implementations. Research, justify, and recommend new equipment to expand capability and throughput.
3:00 PM – Standards that stick: Create or update routings, standard work, setup sheets, work instructions, and quality specifications so the best way is the only way.
4:00 PM – Decision time: Assess risk, decide with urgency, and verify solutions meet safety, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.

Champion a safe workplace through coaching and engineered controls.
Define quality expectations via standard work, specifications, and instructions.
Use structured problem-solving to tackle complex issues and eliminate recurrence.
Assist Purchasing and Quality Assurance with new vendor qualification.
Analyze proposed changes for manufacturability, impact, and feasibility.
Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with clear milestones and follow-through.
What you bring
BS or MS in Engineering (or related field).
5+ years of relevant manufacturing/process engineering experience.
Hands-on background in a machine shop environment.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Project Management.
Demonstrated mechanical manufacturing expertise; sheet metal exposure a plus (shear, notch, roll, form, welding, etc.).
