IMKO Workforce Solutions is currently hiring Valve Technicians for a leading rail services company in the Kansas City area. Read and interpret work orders to remove, inspect, repair, and reinstall tank car product and pressure relief valves.
Tag and identify valves for proper tracking and reinstallation.
Perform repairs according to industry regulations and customer specifications.
Conduct valve testing and accurately document maintenance records, test results, materials used, and repairs completed.
Inspect valves for defects, pressure loss, and proper operation.
Notify supervisors of equipment or material needs to complete assigned work.
Work effectively with team members to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Follow all company safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory procedures.
Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Willingness to learn job-specific procedures and successfully complete required training.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, railroad tracks, and on, under, and inside railcars.
Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools is preferred.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining quality workmanship.
Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other required safety gear.
Physical RequirementsThis position involves heavy, hands-on mechanical work performed both indoors and outdoors. Employees regularly work in hot, cold, wet, dusty, and confined environments while around moving equipment and railcars.Qualified candidates should be able to:
Lift, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
Work on top of, underneath, and inside railcars.
Work safely in confined spaces and at varying heights.
Use proper lifting techniques and mechanical lifting equipment when necessary.
Safely operate hand tools, air tools, power tools, grinders, impact wrenches, jacks, cutting torches, and other shop equipment.
