Title of the position: Van Driver Organization: Corporate Work Study Department: Transportation Reports to: Director of Transportation Type: Part Time/10 Month Hourly/Non-Exempt General Description The Van Driver is responsible for transporting students to/from their work site using school owned mini-vans. Drivers are responsible for student safety, must comply with all traffic and safety regulations, and communicate with the Transportation Director. Shifts are from approximately 7:30-10:00 am and 3:00-5:30 pm. This position is for the 10-month school year and does not require services over the summer. However, at the end of each school year, you will be notified of reasonable assurance of employment for the next school as applicable. Key Areas of Responsibility
Requirements High school diploma or GED Excellent driving record Hold and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license (subject to initial and random verification) Signed Driver Agreement and Code of Conduct Forms (attached) Ability to operate and communicate clearly on a phone Effectively communicate with students, parents, school staff, and others in a calm and respectful manner at all times Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds of the student body Positive attitude |
