Paradise Unified School District is excited to recruit for our brand-new Van Driver position! Are you a safe, dependable driver who enjoys working with students and making a difference in your community? This is a great opportunity to join the PUSD Transportation team, gain valuable experience in pupil transportation, and take the first step toward a future career as a school bus driver. No commercial driver license is required to get started. This position is designed as a Class C driver assignment and may provide an excellent pathway for employees interested in eventually earning the commercial license and endorsements needed to advance into a School Bus Driver position. Why You Will Love This Position As a PUSD Van Driver, you will do much more than drive a vehicle. You will become a trusted and important part of each student's school day. You will help students arrive safely, feel welcomed, and begin and end their day with a positive interaction. You will work as part of a supportive transportation team while gaining hands-on experience in student safety, vehicle operations, route procedures, and school transportation. This position may be a great fit for someone who: Has a strong driving record and takes safety seriously. Enjoys working with children and young people. Is patient, dependable, calm, and professional. Wants meaningful work that directly supports students and families. Is interested in entering or advancing within the transportation field. What You Will Do Under the direction of the Director of Transportation, the Van Driver safely transports students to and from school, District programs, appointments, activities, and other authorized locations using a District van or passenger vehicle. Typical responsibilities include: Safely operating a District van along assigned routes and schedules. Picking up and dropping off students at designated locations. Assisting students as they enter and exit the vehicle. Support
