    Job Summary

    The Vapor Control Environmental Compliance Specialist reports directly to the Environmental Compliance Manager. The Specialist supports field operations in maintaining daily compliance with environmental regulations. Key responsibilities include auditing compliance paperwork for errors, performing data entry for project reports, and drafting initial project reports upon completion. All drafted reports undergo a final quality assurance check by the VC Compliance Manager prior to client submission.

    Qualifications

    • Education: BS/BA degree (preferred).
    • Specialization: BS/BA in Environmental Science or Engineering preferred, or 1+ years of direct environmental compliance experience.

    Character & Technical Requirements

    These requirements are necessary for the compliance role and essential to optimize operational efficiency.

    • Detail-Oriented:

    • Able to perform daily QA/QC on documentation and provide constructive feedback or corrections to field operators.

    • Capable of generating high-level, auditable emissions reports quickly and accurately.

    • Experienced in generating required compliance documentation prior to project startup.

    • Advanced Excel Skills:

    • Proficient in generating pivot tables and executing complex dataset formatting.

    • Macro building experience is preferred.

    • Proficiency with VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP formulas is a plus.

    • Administrative Essentials:

    • Ability to maintain records in a logical, intuitive, and highly organized manner.

    • Ability to translate and communicate complex ideas or processes into layman''s terms for field teams.

    • Flexibility and availability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.

    • Working knowledge of (or the ability to quickly learn) Yokogawa DAQ Manager Data Management Tool, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Visio, and MS PowerPoint.

    • Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks concurrently.

    • Outstanding listening skills to capture pertinent information, strong attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate client needs.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Permit Verification: Ensures appropriate regulatory operating permits are secured for all vapor control equipment.

    • Project Support: Provides project matrices for upcoming vapor control operations to ensure proper permitting, adherence to procedures, and compliance with air monitoring protocols.

    • Quality Assurance: Establishes quality control protocols to monitor all regulated operational aspects.

    • Log Auditing: Receives, reviews, and performs QA/QC on vapor control startup logs and daily air monitoring logs.

    • Document Management: Organizes environmental compliance logs into designated project folders on SharePoint.

    • Operational Feedback: Notifies the Operations Manager regarding missing, incomplete, or inaccurate daily compliance and air monitoring logs.

    • Data Review: Receives and performs QA/QC on electronic data for vapor control projects, including chart recorder data (temperature and flow) and air monitoring logs.

    • Data Storage: Saves and archives electronic project data within SharePoint folders.

    • Client Reporting: Prepares customer reports for VC projects in strict accordance with regulatory requirements.

    • Report Drafting: Compiles the initial draft of environmental compliance project reports for review by the VC Compliance Manager.

    • Recordkeeping: Ensures all day-to-day compliance and recordkeeping requirements are fully met.

    • Managerial Assistance: Assists the VC Environmental Compliance Manager with the following tasks:

    • Sending agency startup notifications.

    • Tracking equipment permits, regulatory permits, and their expiration dates.

    • Tracking company-owned and rented air monitoring equipment (meters).

    • Tracking equipment source testing expiration dates and coordinating renewals with third-party source test contractors.
