Responsibilities:
- Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with school administration, assistant coaches, players, and parents
- Learning and following IHSAA by-laws
- Interviews and recommends assistant coaches for the program to the athletic director
- Oversees and mentors the coaching staff in an effort to insure appropriate player and team development
- Maintaining the playing field and practice facilities
- Organizing practices, transportation, and game schedules
- Purchasing equipment and uniforms
- Fundraising
- Oversees the reporting of all scores and submission of statistics in a timely manner and in accordance with the schools protocol in this area
- Ensures that the mission statement and the Catholic character of the school is integrated into their respective program.
Qualifications:
- At least 21 years old
- The head coach must have the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Previous successful coaching experience at the high school level.
- Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport.
- Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
- Desire and ability to work and relate to people in a Catholic high school setting
- Safe Environment training and Background Check required
