Coordinate, insert, and/or maintain vascular access devices including but not limited to ultrasound peripheral intravenous catheters, Extended dwell catheters, Midline catheters, and Peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC). Care and maintenance of vascular access devices including all central lines and life ports in coordination with nursing. Serves as a clinical resource and consultant to the interprofessional team on vascular access.
Required Qualifications:- Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Require a minimum of two (2) years of acute care clinical experience.
- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- Require Vascular Access – Board Certified (VA-BC) or Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) within one (1) year of hire/transfer date for all employees who are hired or transferred into the position after 1/1/18.
- Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of vascular access experience including PICC insertion.
- Prefer membership in a professional organization associated with vascular access.
