    Job Description

    The Department of Neurology at Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained and board certified Vascular Neurologist to join its expanding Stroke and Vascular Neurology Division.

    Candidates with two years of clinical experience - with a preference for those with a defined research interest - are encouraged to apply. The division is open to faculty members at all academic ranks.

    Division & Role Overview:

    • Eleven primary stroke faculty, ten secondary stroke faculty, and six stroke Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) practitioners
    • Vibrant research environment with 25+M NIH research funding and 3+M American Heart Association research funding in the last years
    • Active clinical practice at 957-bed Duke University Hospital with 6 stroke subspeciality outpatient clinics
    • JCAHO-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center
    • One of 15 Centers of Excellence in Cavernous Malformation
    • Multidisciplinary eye stroke program, both inpatient and outpatient
    • One of 25 Regional Coordinator Centers for the NINDS Stroke Trial Network
    • One of Six Sites for Stroke Preclinical Assessment Network (SPAN)
    • Growing tele stroke network with 10 sites in North Carolina and Virginia
    • Excellent opportunity to develop & advance an education, clinical, & research career
    • Stroke program has 2 ACGME vascular neurology fellowship slots per year and 1 advanced stroke research fellowship slot per year
