Position Summary:

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in one or more of the following specialties: Abdomen/Small Parts, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Vascular Technology, Adult Echocardiography, Pediatric Echocardiography, and Neurosonography for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the attending physician.

  • Has detailed knowledge of three dimensional spatial and cross-sectional anatomy and of common physiological and pathological processes.
  • Understands the physics of diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Assists physicians in biopsies and other invasive procedures.
  • Performs and assists with quality control procedures and maintains appropriate records.

Years of Experience can be related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

or RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer), or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) RVS Registered Vascular Specialist, depending on what specialty; maintain active registry status by obtaining 30 CME's every three years and required to obtain registry status within 12 months of eligibility.
