    Job Summary and Qualifications

    Seeking a Vascular Technologist / Sonographer who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care.     What you will do in this role: 

    • Perform vascular ultrasonic procedures as directed by physicians.
    • Performs non-invasive hemodynamic evaluations and writes test results. 
    • Explaining procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
    • Positioning patients and selecting the appropriate transducer
    • Conducting scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment by moving scanner over specified body area and adjusting equipment to focus
    • Performs exams properly and in a timely manner
    • Takes patient history and retrieves previous files
    • Coordinates patient flow and checks daily list to ensure all exams are complete
    • Maintaining equipment
    • Maintain department records, reports and files
    • Perform other duties as required
    • Must read and understand and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures
    • Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values statements 

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of vascular sonography
    • Must have sufficient knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to vascular examinations
    • Skill in problem solving
    • Skill in organization
    • Skill in using basic office equipment, including computer, telephone, photocopier, and fax machine
    • Ability to operate ultrasound equipment in vascular lab
    • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work effectively under stress.
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others.
    • Ability to effectively communicate

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum one-year experience as an ultrasound technologist/sonographer


    CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

    • Must hold one or more of the following credentials: Registered Vascular Tech, Registered Cardiac Sonographer OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in accordance with state regulation and clinical specialty*.
    • Certification through ARDMS OR ARRT is required.
