Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced VB6 Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications within a financial services environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legacy application development, application troubleshooting, database programming, and production support. Experience working with large-scale financial applications and enterprise environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Visual Basic 6.0 (VB6).
• Analyze existing legacy applications and implement enhancements based on business requirements.
• Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain COM, ActiveX, DLL, and Windows-based applications.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database components.
• Provide production support and resolve application defects and technical issues.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, developers, and production support teams.
• Participate in application testing, debugging, deployment, and release activities.
• Review existing code and identify opportunities for performance and reliability improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation related to application functionality and enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with VB6 / Visual Basic 6.0.
• Extensive experience supporting and enhancing legacy applications.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Experience with COM, ActiveX, DLLs, and Windows desktop applications.
• Strong application debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in enterprise development and production support environments.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C# / .NET.
• Experience modernizing or migrating VB6 applications.
• Knowledge of enterprise application integration.
• Experience in banking, financial services, investment management, or capital markets.
• Experience working with large financial institutions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
