Title: VCSU Student Assistant for KHP Department (FWS Only)

Position Summary:
The Department of Kinesiology & Human Performance seeks a motivated and creative student worker to assist with department marketing, social media management, recruitment efforts, and office support. This position will play an important role in increasing the visibility of KHP programs, highlighting student and faculty accomplishments, and assisting with daily administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, creative, and interested in communication, marketing, social media, exercise science & rehabilitative studies, sport leadership & management, health & physical education, and strength & conditioning.
Essential Responsibilities:
Marketing and Social Media
- Develop and schedule content for department social media platforms.
- Create graphics, flyers, digital signage, and promotional materials using approved university branding guidelines.
- Capture photos and videos of classes, labs, student activities, internships, clinical experiences, athletic training activities, and special events.
- Assist in promoting department programs, field experiences, and events.
- Highlight faculty, student, and alumni achievements through social media and department communications.
- Support department efforts to recruit prospective students and increase program awareness.
Department Visibility and Promotion
- Assist with marketing campaigns designed to increase visibility of KHP programs both on and off campus.
- Help showcase student learning experiences, research projects, field experiences, and community engagement activities.
- Support recruitment events, campus visits, and other outreach activities.
- Assist with maintaining department bulletin boards, digital displays, and promotional materials.
Content Creation and Communications
- Draft social media posts, short news stories, and promotional content.
- Create photo and video content for recruitment and promotional purposes.
- Maintain an organized digital media library of photos, videos, and promotional materials.
Administrative and Office Support
- Provide general office assistance to faculty and department staff.
- Assist with organizing department documents, files, and materials.
- Support special projects as assigned.
- Answer basic questions from current and prospective students and direct inquiries appropriately.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled VCSU student in good academic standing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to representing the department positively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with graphic design programs such as Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop, or similar tools, or willingness to learn.
- Experience creating social media content, photography, or video editing.
- Knowledge of KHP programs.
- Interest in marketing, communications, exercise science & rehabilitative studies, sport leadership & management, health & physical education, and strength & conditioning.
