Position Information

This is a paid, part-time, non-benefited position. Only VCSU students are eligible to be hired in this position. Unsolicited applications to this posting will NOT be considered or responded to. This position is subject to North Dakota Veterans Preference requirements and will be posted for a minimum of 3 business days. If desired, this position can also be a paid internship for credit through VCSU.

Title: Student Assistant - Video Production

Department: Public Relations/Marketing

Reports to: Director for Public Relations

Pay: $11/hour

Position Summary:

VCSU Public Relations/Marketing is looking for students to help with video production for the 2026-27 school year. These students will be responsible for shooting video at assigned VCSU campus events and creating video recaps for use on social media and other areas. The student will also be part of our video production team that produces live video streams for various campus events. The right person could also have the opportunity to host a campus podcast or do the play-by-play broadcast for certain VCSU athletic events.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Shoot and edit video for campus events or special assignments
  • Help produce live video broadcasts for campus events and official campus podcasts
  • Access and use responsibly our campus video studio, video equipment and software

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • VCSU student
  • Work 4-6 hours/week, depending on number of events
  • Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised.
  • TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED
  • Ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills and desire to be a team player.
  • Experience with customer service- common courtesy in working with students, employees, and the public.
  • Good organization and time management skills.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to move about.
