Are you ready to elevate your skills in 3D modeling and design? Join our team as a VDC Technician II, a position that builds upon foundational experience and emphasizes technical proficiency and independence. In this role, you’ll take ownership of developing and refining 3D models, creating detailed fabrication spool drawings, and coordinating BIM workflows for plumbing and mechanical systems.
Why Work With Us
- Skill Advancement: Take on complex modeling tasks and hone your expertise in Revit and BIM coordination.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with experienced professionals across project teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Impactful Projects: Contribute to the success of diverse and challenging plumbing and mechanical system designs.
How You’ll Contribute to the Team:
As a VDC Technician II, you will:
- Independently develop and modify 3D Revit models for ventilation and plumbing systems, ensuring design accuracy and compliance.
- Produce detailed fabrication spool drawings, layout plans, and bills of materials to support fabrication and installation.
- Conduct clash detection using Navisworks to identify and resolve conflicts before construction.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop BIM models for coordination and fabrication, adhering to architect/engineer specifications.
- Incorporate critical data from engineering specifications, submittals, and manuals into BIM models.
- Review models for consistency and propose updates to improve VDC standards and processes.
- Support field data collection and layout verification using precise site measurements.
- Ensure project quality and fidelity through meticulous review and troubleshooting.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Revit modeling skills, particularly for plumbing and ventilation systems, and familiarity with Trimble SysQue for fabrication-ready modeling.
- Analytical Skills: Intermediate mathematical abilities and a solid understanding of plumbing and ventilation components and installation processes.
- Independence: Ability to manage complex modeling tasks and follow established workflows with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative Communication: Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with engineers, project teams, and the VDC Manager.
- Professionalism: Organized, punctual, and detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
- Education: Associate degree or certificate in architectural or computer-aided drafting technology. Equivalent practical experience of 5 years is also acceptable.
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of relevant Revit experience, with intermediate knowledge of applicable codes and standards for plumbing and ventilation systems preferred.
What to expect and benefits:
- Office Work: Prolonged periods of desk work, focusing on computer-based modeling and design.
- Field Visits: Occasional jobsite visits to gather data, verify layouts, and resolve issues.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
- Insurance: Health, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance.
- Other Benefits: 401(k) with a company match, paid time off, paid holidays.
