    Job Description

    About the Role
Atoms is transforming standard vehicles into autonomous-ready platforms, and we are hiring Vehicle Installation Technicians to perform the hands-on build, integration, and diagnostic work that makes it happen. You will remove trim panels and interior components, install sensors, brackets, and hardware mounts, route and connect wiring and electrical systems, and diagnose and verify installations so every build meets quality standards. This is a full-time, W2 contract role based on-site in San Francisco, CA.

    What You Will Do
    - Remove trim panels and interior components to prepare vehicles for integration
    - Install sensors, brackets, and hardware mounts to specification
    - Route wiring/cabling and connect electrical and low-voltage systems
    - Diagnose and troubleshoot fitment, routing, and integration issues
    - Follow detailed work instructions, diagrams, and technical documentation
    - Perform verification checks and quality inspections
    - Communicate issues clearly to supervisors and engineering teams

    Schedule
    - Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA
    - Shifts: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM or 2:00 PM-10:30 PM (possible weekend shifts)
    - Process: Recruiter screen, then virtual interview, then on-site interview, then offer

    Pay & Leveling
    - S2: $32-$36/hour (1-3 years general experience, 0-2 years specific domain experience)
    - S3: $38-$42/hour (3-5 years general experience, 1-3 years domain experience)
    - Your level and rate are set at the on-site interview based on experience and hands-on performance; candidates should be flexible within these ranges.

    Requirements

    Qualifications
    - 2-5 years of hands-on automotive installation, assembly, integration, diagnostic, or mechanical experience
    - Strong electrical and diagnostic troubleshooting ability (diagnosing fitment, routing, and integration issues)
    - Experience with vehicle disassembly/reassembly, hardware mounting, and wiring harness routing
    - Comfortable with low-voltage electrical systems and reading work instructions, diagrams, and technical documentation
    - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
    - Comfortable working around vehicles and performing physical tasks (standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching) throughout the workday
    - Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

    Strong Fits
    - Fleet, prototype, or integration technicians
    - EV, autonomous vehicle, or automotive manufacturing technicians
    - Aerospace/aviation assembly or aircraft mechanics (non-drone)
    - Military wheeled-vehicle or aviation mechanics
    - Automotive technicians with strong diagnostic experience or trade school training
    - Master Technicians, Lead Technicians, or Shop Foremen from dealerships or independent shops (ASE Master certification a plus)
    - Vehicle electronics or audio/stereo installers

    Not a Fit
This is a build, integration, and diagnostics role. Experienced Master Technicians and diagnostic technicians from dealerships or independent shops are welcome and encouraged to apply. It is not a lube, quick-service, or service-advisor position - if your background is limited to routine oil-and-tire maintenance or general service without diagnostic or hands-on build/integration experience, this role likely isn't the right fit.
