Mission
Position Summary
Drive the voice-of-the-customer strategy, establish technical objectives, and lead vehicle-level development and validation testing for assigned vehicle programs. Serves as the functional integration lead to ensure seamless cross-system execution, quality, and robust issue resolution from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Area Leadership: Lead vehicle-level development and execution for an assigned functional domain (Body, Interior, or Electrical) on specific vehicle programs.
Customer & Technical Objectives: Define voice-of-the-customer requirements and establish program vehicle functional objectives.
DVP&R Management: Develop and execute comprehensive Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVP&R) to ensure full system and vehicle-level validation.
Feature Integration: Support the seamless integration of new vehicle features, technologies, and advanced functional capabilities.
Best Practice Alignment: Active participation in cross-program technical governance (Tech Clubs) to drive design consistency and standard execution across vehicle lines.
Issue Resolution: Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action processes by convening cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues.
Vehicle Evaluations: Plan and execute ride-and-drive events, overnight vehicle evaluations, validation drive trips, and pilot build support activities.
Profile
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or related field).
Automotive Engineering Experience: Proven background in automotive product development, vehicle systems engineering, and component/system-level integration.
Systems Engineering Perspective: Strong end-to-end understanding of complete vehicle systems and overall vehicle integration.
Issue Resolution Expertise: Solid understanding of structured engineering problem-solving methodologies (root cause analysis, containment, and corrective action planning).
Validation & Development: Solid grasp of the complete automotive vehicle development lifecycle, build phases, and validation processes.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical issues into executive summary recommendations; proven team player able to build consensus across cross-functional groups.
Self-Management: Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing multiple complex tasks under program deadlines.
Core Tools & Driving Requirements: Strong proficiency in standard office productivity tools (Microsoft Office Suite) and a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Technologies: Familiarity with Autonomous Driving (AD/ADAS) technologies and Electrified Propulsion Systems (EV/HEV).
Design & Quality Standards: DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Production & Design Release: Hands-on experience with component design release, manufacturing assembly processes, and launch quality management.
