Vehicle Yard Driver – Elwood, ILCompany: Road & Rail ServicesPay: $18.00 per hourPosition Type: Full-TimeAvailability: Weekends requiredDrive New Vehicles and Stay ActiveRoad & Rail Services is looking for safety-minded drivers to support vehicle-processing operations in Elwood, Illinois. You will check new vehicles for visible damage and transport them between designated locations on the customer's property before shipment.This job takes place in an active vehicle yard and requires regular outdoor work. It is not a delivery, rideshare, or valet position. It may be a great fit if you enjoy driving, working independently, and moving throughout your shift.Primary DutiesIn this position, you will:Walk around each vehicle and inspect it before movementDocument or report existing damage and safety issuesTransport vehicles through the facility using approved routesPlace vehicles in their assigned parking baysHelp maintain accurate vehicle inventoryFollow site traffic rules and all applicable safety proceduresAssist with tag-and-rinse wash operations at applicable locationsMaintain clean and orderly work areasPerform additional operational tasks as directed by managementQualificationsCandidates should:Hold a valid state driver's license when operating company vehicles or equipmentReport to work consistently and on timeUnderstand and follow verbal and written directionsWork carefully around moving vehicles in a fast-paced environmentWear required personal protective equipment correctlyHave flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and adjusted schedules when business demands require itPhysical Demands and Working ConditionsMost duties are completed outside in a working automotive facility.
