Vehicle Software Platform Engineer — Ann Arbor, MI (Onsite) | W2 Contract (6 months) | $65–$85/hr
Our client, a leader in autonomous and assisted driving, is hiring a Vehicle Software Platform Engineer to design and build scalable application and middleware components for next-generation vehicle software systems. You'll develop core software modules, middleware, and integration layers that connect vehicle operating systems, compute platforms, and sensor data to high-level driving functions — writing production-quality C++ and Python that runs on in-vehicle systems.
What you'll do:
- Design and implement application- and middleware-level software features for advanced driving (AD/ADAS) and connected vehicle platforms.
- Develop and maintain C++ and Python modules that interface with sensors, compute nodes, and vehicle systems.
- Contribute to system integration, debugging, and optimization on Linux- and QNX-based environments.
- Set up or adapt build flows and related tooling.
- Collaborate across software, hardware, and systems teams; participate in code reviews and release processes for production software.
What we're looking for:
- 3–5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong C++ AND Python programming skills.
- Hands-on system software development (drivers, filesystems, sockets) on Linux and/or QNX.
- Solid understanding of embedded software/systems and interfaces such as Ethernet and CAN.
- Proven track record shipping production software in automotive, aerospace, defense, robotics, or a nearby embedded domain.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting; a generalist who dives deep fast and learns continuously.
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field highly preferred.
Details:
- Location: Ann Arbor, MI — onsite 5 days/week (no remote or relocation assistance).
- Schedule: Full-time, approx. 9–5/6, EST.
- Engagement: 6-month W2 contract.
- Pay: $65–$85/hr.
