    Vendor Quality Assurance Engineer — Heavy Equipment

From our Olathe, KS facility, we’re scaling production—and we need a VQA Engineer to ensure every sourced component meets strict standards.

    Your impact (concise)

    • Launch quality: Own supplier quality planning for new parts; lead APQP deliverables and PPAP approvals.
    • Supplier ecosystem: Partner with Sourcing to assess/select vendors; perform process and capability audits; close corrective actions.
    • Containment and recovery: Manage disposition of nonconforming material; drive cost recovery; coordinate with Quality Control on fault classification and escalations.
    • Problem solving: Facilitate root cause analysis and 8D; validate effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
    • Transparency: Report PPM and issue trends to the Global Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) Manager.
    • Improvement: Mitigate supplier risks; collaborate with design to enhance manufacturability and product quality.

    Must‑haves

    • 3–5 years in manufacturing or purchasing with direct supplier quality responsibility.
    • Proficiency with quality management systems and auditing practices.
    • Comfort with measurement systems, assembly processes, and reading mechanical drawings.
    • MS Office proficiency and experience with quality control software and data analysis.
    • Root cause methods (5 Whys) and structured problem solving (8D).

    Education & credentials

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Professional preferred.
    • Background in heavy equipment manufacturing strongly preferred.

    • ~20% travel, mainly local/domestic within a 3‑hour radius.
