Rural Staffing Services® partners with rural hospitals, clinics, community health centers, long-term care organizations, and healthcare systems throughout Vermont to identify experienced leaders across the operational and support services that keep rural healthcare organizations running safely and effectively.

What You May Lead

Responsibilities will vary by organization and position and may include:

• Providing operational leadership for facilities, environmental services, dietary, supply chain, security, or related departments• Maintaining safe, clean, functional, and welcoming healthcare environments• Managing preventive maintenance, repairs, utilities, infrastructure, and building systems• Supporting life-safety, emergency preparedness, and regulatory readiness• Leading environmental services, infection-prevention support, and sanitation standards• Overseeing food service, nutrition operations, and applicable safety requirements• Managing purchasing, inventory, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships• Supporting capital planning, renovations, construction, and equipment replacement• Managing department budgets, staffing, scheduling, and productivity• Recruiting, training, developing, and supporting employees• Developing policies, procedures, workflows, and performance standards• Preparing for inspections, surveys, audits, and emergency exercises• Collaborating with clinical, administrative, quality, infection prevention, and executive leaders• Helping ensure essential services remain dependable during emergencies or operational disruptions• Identifying practical ways to improve efficiency, safety, and service quality

What You May Bring

Qualifications will vary by opportunity, but organizations may seek:

• Progressive experience in healthcare facilities, environmental services, food and nutrition, supply chain, materials management, security, safety, or another support-services area• Previous leadership experience as a director, manager, supervisor, or comparable professional• Strong knowledge of the regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements relevant to the position• Experience managing teams, budgets, vendors, inventory, equipment, or facilities• The ability to prioritize competing needs and respond calmly to operational challenges• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills• Experience working collaboratively with clinical and administrative departments• Experience within rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, long-term care organizations, or community healthcare settings• Relevant education, certification, or technical credentials based on the position• A visible, dependable, and service-focused leadership style
